Lunch options in Penn Quarter
Dear Wagamama,How dare you make me wait until 2010 for tasty ramen.
Love,
Mari
I thought I took a picture but apparently, no. Yesterday I spotted signage on 418 7th Street stating that the noodle chain I fell in love with in London will be coming in 2010. Better yet, it will be close enough and priced about right to make a regular lunch spot.

Dude, Mari - since you know the place from London - will we be able to crack raw eggs into our extremely hot ramen like you can in Japan? Itadakimasu!
I don't remember raw eggs in London. I just remember seafood ramen.
I went to a Wagamama and it was delish, if not a bit expensive. It will be a hit I'm sure.
I used to go there in London and yeah, I miss it. It will be fun to go there when it's finally open, though I'm not sure how well DC people will take to the communal table thing.
Speaking of British chains expanding over here, Pret a Manger has been open at 18th and I for a while now. I used to love their sandwiches, but I haven't been to the one here yet because it's not open weekends.
Interesting! I took note of Wagamama when we were in London in March. I love noodle soup, but we didn't eat there. I know the noodles and all the ingredients are fresh, but I just couldn't pay $12 for a bowl of chicken ramen.
