Big Bear Beer?

I noticed this in the announcement for today's BACA meeting:

(b) Ms. Elizabeth Lyttleton, an Eckington resident who provides occasional consulting services to Big Bear Café, asked for time on our agenda to apprise our group of the status of the cafe’s current efforts to acquire a license from the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. I am advised that Ms. Lyttleton developed a scheduling conflict that won’t allow her to attend Monday’s meeting in person; however, she plans to identify someone else to make her expected presentation and to answer any questions that it might generate.

TODAY! 7PM Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, in the basement cafeteria.

I'm not going to guess but what neighborhood do you live in? Are you in Hanover St NW area? Bates/ Northern Truxton Circle? In the relm of CCCA (west of NJ)? I say start with contacting your ANC and attending the ANC meeting, from there you'll find out about the associated civic associations.

Mari, thanks for the advice on the ANC. I just wasn't sure where to start, who the players were, etc.

I live at 9th and O, by the Giant grocery. By the Scripture Cathedral.

You're in Ward 2, in the ANC 2C area, maybe I think that might bound another ANC. Your civic association in CCCA. Ignore ECCA, they know no boundaries, as I saw fliers for the in BACA territory.

Yes, MPS, you are in the Convention Center Community Association area. I think you're also in the Blagden Alley and Naylor Court Association area. The CCCA meets the last Tuesday of the month, usually at the Kennedy Rec Center. There is a special joint meeting with the Mount Vernon Square Neighborhood Assocation and Blagden Alley on Thursday night, March 4 with DC Superior Court Chief Judge Satterfield.
